Let's Continue The Good Work!

It has truly been a privilege to serve as a trustee of the Langley Board of Education for the past 7 years; including this past term as Vice Chair.
On October 20th 2018 I am asking for your support and the opportunity to serve you for another 4 years.
Please read on to learn more about my re-election platform, where I will share with you some of the accomplishments  of the past 4 years and some of things I believe we can improve.
I would like to hear from you. Your views are important to me! Please let me know what you believe we could be doing better in our district; to ensure that all of our children receive the best public education possible.
Most importantly on October 20th, 2018, please come out and vote!

My Platform

I believe in accountability. As an elected official I am accountable to you, to our district, and to the students who come to our schools every day to learn.

I believe in communication. As a Board of Education, we must ensure that information is available and accurate by communicating in an open and transparent way.

I believe in respect. The culture of our district must embody respect for all people in our district, whether taxpayers, parents, students or staff.

Live Streaming Of Meetings

One of the most important accomplishments related to accountability, communication and respect during this past term is the implementation of live streaming of our regular board meetings.

Fiscal Responsibility

After paying off the deficit in 2013, 2 years earlier than expected; the Langley Board of Education improved educational opportunities for Langley students while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

Greater Consultation

As a Trustee of the Langley Board of Education, I have been committed to ensuring that consultation with all affected stakeholders has been consistently implemented and meaningful.

New Infastructure

I am proud to have been part of a Board which has seen three new schools built and a new secondary underway. In addition, many new classrooms have been added as well as renovations and upgrades to existing schools, providing modern and safe spaces for our students.

Long Term Facilities Plan

During my first term on the Langley Board or Education from 2011-2014 the Board developed its first long term facilities plan. This past term my focus has been sustained implementation of that plan.

Focus On Student Success

The addition of new programs and initiatives, as well as continued focus on student success has enabled top quality personalized learning and supported high achievement by Langley students.
